During the project implementation, we cooperated with the Polish Humanitarian Action(PAH) Office in Toruń. The Polish Humanitarian Action not only provides humanitarian and development assistance, but also educates the public. The contents of our project in the aspect of social education are compatible with the activities of this organization. Our cooperation allowed us to learn more about refugees and migrants in our region and country. The organization has enabled us to contact refugees and migrants, who agreed to meet with young people, to give an interview and to publicize their image. Thanks to these conversations, we heard about their fate and hard time they had to go through. In addition to personal content, we were able to familiarize ourselves with the procedures of conduct in order to obtain the possibility of staying in refugee centers and obtaining Polish citizenship.
We cooperated with Amnesty International Office in Toruń. Our cooperation with Amnesty International has allowed students to learn about sources, basic documents and the essence of human rights. Thanks to the acquired knowledge, students could shape and develop a school environment based on human rights, build school self-government, and through it, civil society. In addition, their activities could sensitize students, teachers and parents to the problems of intolerance and aggression at schools.
We cooperated also with Caritas in Toruń. On December 6th the school unit of Caritas, the Erasmus + project group, and student council organised the lottery which brought 544 PLN. The money was transferred to the account of “Caritas – Aleppo Help” http://rodzinarodzinie.caritas.pl/.We joined the action led by Caritas Poland in the whole country “The Polish Families for the Families in Syria”.
So before Christmas the whole school made plenty of Christmas cards and various Christmas decorations which were distributed among the teachers, and parents. They were also won by the students during the Christmas lottery. Besides, a lot of parents responded to our action positively and brought great prizes for the lottery. Thanks to all the school community’s involvement, we could make a contribution in order to give a helping hand to the people in need.
Thanks for the Aleppo charity event for ZSE in Toruń from Caritas Poland.
